IPWEA is the peak professional not-for-profit organisation providing member services and advocacy to professionals involved in delivering public works and services in Australia and New Zealand.
Its Australasian membership of around 4,000 represents practitioners primarily in state and local government but also in private industry.
Key communication tools of the Institute are our four-monthly digital magazine and monthly fleet targeted e-newsletter sent to IPWEA’s 13,500 plus online database. Of those over 2,500 have a major focus in fleet.
About IPWEA FLEET Program
A key focus for IPWEA is plant and vehicle (fleet) management. Our fleet community of practice is aimed at raising the profile and knowledge of plant and vehicle management in public works and private sector fleets.
The program presents a unique opportunity for a supplier to reach all councils in Australia and New Zealand.
IPWEA FLEET’s mission is to support those working, or intending to work in the management, procurement, maintenance and use of plant, vehicles & equipment. IPWEA FLEET is the leading provider of Plant and Vehicle Fleet Management reference materials and resources and provides a range of training and networking opportunities to the fleet industry.
IPWEA’s best practice Plant & Vehicle Management Manual, launched in 2004 has become the primary reference for practitioners managing a diverse fleet.
IPWEA’s regular Plant and Vehicle Management workshops are highly regarded and now our tailored or in-house courses are increasing in popularity. Fleet Maintenance Supervisor Training and Plant and Vehicle Maintenance Safe Practice training have proven very beneficial to participants.
The Fleet Management Certificate and Fleet Management on-line training provide practical and industry recognised training for anyone involved in fleet. The certificate and the on-line training provides participants with essential need-to-know principles and techniques for best practice fleet management.
IPWEA FLEET is the primary source of plant and fleet training and resources in the local government sector in Australasia, and we are dedicated to enhancing the plant and vehicle management skills of people working in the management, procurement, maintenance and use of plant, vehicles and equipment.
The fleet program is driven by the IPWEA FLEET Council – a hand-picked group of respected and highly experienced practitioners within the fleet industry, whose expertise assists in the creation of standards, developing products and resources and providing direction for the fleet program.
IPWEA FLEET embraces the entire spectrum of the supply chain – the combined spend of the local government sector on plant and fleet (capital, maintenance, parts, consumables, services etc) is in the billions of dollars.
